Sourcing the best technology and solutions for you, is what gets me out of bed each day. Travelling regularly to China, and every second year to Hannover, Germany for Agritechnica keeps me abreast of what's ready and refined for Australian farming conditions. You might be surprised that there's Chinese options that are refined, cost effective and equal to any for Australian conditions. Having sourced tech internationally for 25 years, firstly from the USA back with gps-Ag and more recently the Netherlands with WEED-IT I feel confident in gauging the overseas market.
Originally a farm boy from the Wimmera, a lifetime in Ag has served me well, learning from the best farmers on the planet, right here in AUSTRALIA.
Educated at Melbourne Uni completing a bachelor and some years later a Masters of Ag engineering in the UK fostered my critical thinking around Ag machinery with my specialty being spraying.
But there’s no better teacher than grower feedback, honesty and good old Aussie know how. It’s my relationships with Australian growers over my lifetime in Ag going back to the first auto steer in the 1999 that I treasurer.
My goal's to bring you evidence based opinions to guide your choice of guidance and autonomous options. To be working with Jim Castles again and Joe, with the support of Robyn I’m looking forward to this exciting chapter embracing the current GPS landscape. When not working I’m chasing the big fish in Sea Pig!

I love dealing with the most important part of our business, the people! The dealers and their farmers, the folk at CHC Nav in Shanghai, China, and our colleagues in the Ag industry. The granddaugher of Western District farmers, I grew up in Melbourne, then returned to regional Victoria in the early 80's. Having spent 40 years working with farming folk, initially in healthcare settings and for the last decade in precision agriculture - I love it. I was an onlooker with our family business gps-AG, I did my apprentership with Rometron Australia and now I'm in the box seat with Autofarm Tech.
Leaving the technicalities of guidance and autosteer to the expert Brendan, I enjoy helping with anything that makes the process easier for all involved. Whether I'm shipping off an NX612, a new spline, or filming some inter-row sowing, if it helps make a farmer's life easier in the long run, I've had a good day.
It doesnt feel like work when I think about the people I've met along the way. Erindale Ag's, Robyn Buerckner and I recently caught up at the WoTL thriving women conference in Bendigo. Learning first hand from growers like Robyn, cropping with her husband Paul in the Ariah Park district, is invaluable. And last year I was lucky enough to visit CHC Nav in China - spending time with Roderick Ma and Morgan Chan at the Shanghai headquarters was extra special.
