Sourcing the best technology and solutions for you, is what gets me out of bed each day. Travelling regularly to China, and every second year to Hannover, Germany for Agritechnica keeps me abreast of what's ready and refined for Australian farming conditions. You might be surprised that there's Chinese options that are refined, cost effective and equal to any for Australian conditions. Having sourced tech internationally for 25 years, firstly from the USA back with gps-Ag and more recently the Netherlands with WEED-IT I feel confident in gauging the overseas market.

Originally a farm boy from the Wimmera, a lifetime in Ag has served me well, learning from the best farmers on the planet, right here in AUSTRALIA.

Educated at Melbourne Uni completing a bachelor and some years later a Masters of Ag engineering in the UK fostered my critical thinking around Ag machinery with my specialty being spraying.

But there’s no better teacher than grower feedback, honesty and good old Aussie know how. It’s my relationships with Australian growers over my lifetime in Ag going back to the first auto steer in the 1999 that I treasurer.

My goal's to bring you evidence based opinions to guide your choice of guidance and autonomous options. To be working with Jim Castles again and Joe, with the support of Robyn I’m looking forward to this exciting chapter embracing the current GPS landscape. When not working I’m chasing the big fish in Sea Pig!

I’m passionate about helping you unlock the benefits of technology—whether through precision agriculture, data-driven decision making, or affordable solutions that improve efficiency and profitability.

Today, as General Manager of AUTOFARM Tech, I’m focused on delivering accessible, cutting-edge technologies to Australian broadacre growers and beyond. With over 20 years’ experience in the agtech sector, I’ve worked alongside leading growers and organisations across Australia and internationally. My career has included roles with GEOSYS, Sensand, and a range of innovative agtech companies, giving me deep insight into the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

I first worked with Brendan during the GPS-Ag era, managing the Ouyen region at the heart of Victoria’s Mallee. It was there I had the privilege of learning from some of Australia’s most innovative farmers. Introducing auto-steer technology and one of the first WEED-IT rigs into the country placed me at the forefront of Ag Tech adoption and change management.

Outside of work, I’m a proud family man who enjoys time away with my wife, Lisa, and daughter, Gwen, exploring Australia in our caravan.

Joe Williams

I am all about solving problems, whether it's providing support in the field or over the phone, I’m dedicated to getting your equipment running smoothly and adapting to any challenges that come up.

With an undergrad in Environmental Science and a master’s in Agricultural Science, I enjoy combining solid theory with hands-on experience. My career kicked off in broadacre farming with Warakirri in NSW and WA, followed by work in the dairy industry in Southwest Victoria and a stint in the National Parks along the coast. This diverse experience has shaped my practical, get-it-done mindset and easy-going nature.

Now back in Central Victoria, I’m working alongside Brendan and Jim to ensure you’re getting the most out of your equipment no matter where you are.
